Enjoy the Gulf .... while helping the Gulf!

Unsure about a Gulf Beach vacation? Don't be.

The BP oil spill appears randomly and is limited to certain beach areas.  And even in those places, the oil is a curiosity, not a trip-spoiler.  People just stay away from it and lay/play elsewhere on the beach.  The restaurants, shops, golfing and other attractions are still as enjoyable as ever.  The sun still shines warm and bright.  The sound of the waves is still soothing.

Tourism is key to the Gulf Coast economy.  Without the usual number of visitors, many hotels and other employers are suffering.  They need your loyal business right now.  They're working hard to keep the beaches clean, offer special rates & discounts and add more entertainment events.

So, although you personally can't stop the oil spill, clean the pelicans or reopen the fishing waters, what you can do is visit the Gulf CoastThat's how you can help during this crisis.  Use the links to the left.

Planning Tip #1:  If actually getting in the water is important - to swim, surf, snorkel, or fish - simply move down the coastline - east or west - to where the oil absolutely has not appeared.

Planning Tip #2:  The sooner you visit, the easier you'll find completely unaffected areas.

If you prefer not to visit the Gulf Coast now, Expedia can locate hotels for you elsewhere.  Have a safe trip ...
and please visit the Gulf Coast soon.  We're really missing you.  (Also, if you vacation elsewhere, please consider places within the affected states. You'll still be helping their state economy & employment.)
